Who was Napoleon I?
Answer. The emperor of the French, founder and head of the First Empire (from 1804 to 1815).
L'empereur des Français, fondateur et chef du Premier Empire (de 1804 à 1815).
Napoleon Bonaparte takes power in 1799, then becomes emperor in 1804 under the name Napoleon I. He is credited with the Civil Code, the lycee and the baccalaureat.
