From what age can a minor work?

Answer. From age 16, with parental authorisation.

À partir de 16 ans, avec l’autorisation de ses parents.

As a general rule, you can start working at 16. A minor needs the consent of their legal representative, unless they are legally emancipated. There are a few regulated exceptions before age 16, such as apprenticeships or light work during school holidays.

The official text that proves it

« Il est possible de travailler dès l'âge de 16 ans. Tout mineur doit y être autorisé par son représentant légal (père ou mère, par exemple), sauf s'il est émancipé. »

You can work from the age of 16. Every minor must be authorised to do so by their legal representative, such as a parent, unless they are legally emancipated.
