How are deputies chosen?
Answer. They are elected by citizens through direct universal suffrage.
Ils sont élus par les citoyens au suffrage universel direct.
Voters directly elect deputies during the legislative elections. There is an election in each constituency, held over two rounds.
The official text that proves it
« Les députés à l'Assemblée nationale, dont le nombre ne peut excéder cinq cent soixante-dix-sept, sont élus au suffrage direct. »
Deputies to the National Assembly, whose number may not exceed five hundred and seventy seven, are elected by direct suffrage.
