What are fundamental rights?

Answer. They are the basic rights and freedoms that everyone must respect, and that are the same for everyone.

Ce sont les droits et libertés de base que tout le monde doit respecter, et qui sont les mêmes pour tous.

Fundamental rights protect every person, for example freedom, equality, dignity or justice. They apply to everyone, regardless of sex, age or beliefs.

The official text that proves it

« Les droits fondamentaux (ou libertés fondamentales) sont les droits et les libertés élémentaires que tout le monde doit respecter pour assurer le bien-être de chacun. »

Fundamental rights (or fundamental freedoms) are the basic rights and freedoms that everyone must respect in order to ensure everyone's well-being.
