La répudiation de sa femme est :

Answer. Forbidden and has no legal value in France. Only a divorce granted under the law ends a marriage.

Interdite et sans valeur en France. Seul un divorce prononcé selon la loi met fin à un mariage.

French law recognizes only two ways to end a marriage, the death of one spouse or a divorce granted under the law. A repudiation therefore has no value in France. Wives and husbands have the same rights within the couple, a husband cannot decide on his own to send his wife away.

The official text that proves it

« Le mariage se dissout : 1° Par la mort de l'un des époux ; 2° Par le divorce légalement prononcé. »
Marriage is dissolved, first, by the death of one of the spouses, second, by divorce legally granted.
