Quelles sont les conditions pour toucher les allocations chômage ?
What are the conditions for receiving unemployment benefits?
Answer. Having lost your job through no choice of your own, having worked enough beforehand, generally at least 6 months over the last 24 months, and being registered with France Travail while looking for a job.
Avoir perdu son emploi sans l’avoir choisi, avoir assez travaillé avant (en général au moins 6 mois sur les 24 derniers mois) et être inscrit à France Travail pour chercher un emploi.
Unemployment benefit is paid to people who lost their job involuntarily, for example through a dismissal or the end of a fixed term contract (CDD). Resigning does not normally give you the right to unemployment benefit, except in special cases. Since 1 April 2026, 5 months of work is enough for someone claiming unemployment benefit for the first time. You must also live in France and actively look for a job.
To be confirmed against the four options shown on exam day, which the ministry does not publish.
