According to the principle of laïcité (secularism), what does the neutrality of the State mean?
Answer. The State does not favor any religion, it neither recognizes nor funds any, and it treats everyone the same way.
L'État ne favorise aucune religion, il n'en reconnaît ni n'en finance aucune et traite chacun de la même façon.
The State is neutral, there is no official religion. This guarantees equality for everyone, whatever their beliefs.

« La République laïque organise la séparation des religions et de l’État . L'État est neutre à l'égard des convictions religieuses ou spirituelles. Il n'y a pas de religion d'État. »
The secular Republic organizes the separation of religions and the State. The State is neutral toward religious or spiritual beliefs. There is no State religion.
