In France, the law is the same for everyone. Elected officials, ministers and the administration must also obey it.
The official text that proves it
« Un État de droit est un système dans lequel la loi est la même pour tous, y compris pour l’État. Le droit est donc supérieur aux pouvoirs et aux autorités politiques. »
A state governed by the rule of law is a system in which the law is the same for everyone, including for the State. Law is therefore superior to political powers and authorities.
