Who elects the European deputies?
Answer. Citizens of the European Union, including French citizens and other Europeans living in France.
Les citoyens de l'Union européenne, y compris les Français et les Européens qui vivent en France.
European deputies are elected directly by the citizens of the Union's countries. In 2024, France elected 81 MEPs.

« Les citoyens et les citoyennes de l’Union européenne votent pour désigner les membres du Parlement européen. On les appelle les députés européens, ou eurodéputés. »
Citizens of the European Union vote to choose the members of the European Parliament. They are called European deputies, or MEPs.
