Answer. The employer must pay for these overtime hours, with an increased rate, or let the employee take the time back.
Il doit payer ces heures supplémentaires (avec une majoration) ou les faire récupérer.
Beyond 35 hours a week, the extra hours count as overtime. The employer must pay them at a higher rate or grant time off in exchange, within the limits of the maximum working time allowed.
The official text that proves it
« Au-delà de 35 heures, on parle "d’heures supplémentaires". L’employeur doit payer ces heures supplémentaires au salarié ou lui permettre de les rattraper. »
Beyond 35 hours, these are called overtime hours. The employer must pay the employee for this overtime or allow them to make up the time later.
