What condition is required to vote in elections?
Answer. To hold French nationality (also being an adult, having civic rights, and being registered on the electoral rolls).
Avoir la nationalité française (et aussi être majeur, avoir ses droits civiques et être inscrit sur les listes électorales).
To vote in France, you must be French, be 18 years old, not be deprived of your civic rights, and be registered on the electoral rolls. The only exception, citizens of the European Union can vote in municipal and European elections.
The official text that proves it
« Le droit de vote est accordé à tout citoyen : de nationalité française ; de plus de 18 ans (être majeur) ; qui a ses droits civils et politiques (n’est pas condamné) ; qui est inscrit sur les listes électorales. »
The right to vote is granted to every citizen who holds French nationality, is over 18 (an adult), has their civil and political rights (has not been convicted), and is registered on the electoral rolls.
