After elementary school, around age 11, students enter collège. It has four year groups, from 6e to 3e.
The official text that proves it
« le collège (de 11 à 15 ans). Il y a 4 niveaux : 6e, 5e, 4e et 3e. À la fin du collège, l’enfant passe un diplôme qui s’appelle le brevet des collèges »
