Every person over 18 living in France must declare their income every year, unless they are attached to their parents' tax household. Failing to do so can lead to penalties, and sometimes prison.

In France, it is compulsory to declare your income (money you have earned) even if you do not work. Failing to file your tax return can lead to financial penalties, having to repay benefits received, and difficulties accessing certain rights.
