What condition is required to vote in the presidential election?
Answer. To hold French nationality.
Avoir la nationalité française.
To vote in the presidential election, you must be French, be at least 18 years old, have your civic rights, and be registered on the electoral rolls. Foreigners, even European citizens, do not vote in this election.
The official text that proves it
« Le droit de vote est accordé à tout citoyen : de nationalité française ; de plus de 18 ans (être majeur) ; qui a ses droits civils et politiques (n’est pas condamné) ; qui est inscrit sur les listes électorales. »
The right to vote is granted to every citizen who holds French nationality, is over 18 (an adult), has their civil and political rights (has not been convicted), and is registered on the electoral rolls.
