In what case must you register your child with the registry office?
Answer. In every case, for every birth. Registration is compulsory.
Dans tous les cas, pour chaque naissance. La déclaration est obligatoire.
Every birth must be registered at the mairie of the place of birth, within 5 days. This registration allows the child's birth certificate to be drawn up.
The official text that proves it
« La déclaration de naissance est obligatoire. Elle doit être réalisée dans les 5 jours qui suivent la naissance, par le père, la mère ou par une personne qui a assisté à l’accouchement. »
Registering a birth is compulsory. It must be done within 5 days of the birth, by the father, the mother, or a person who was present at the birth.
